Living in a home where one parent abuses another has a devastating impact on children and young people. Our children's teams deliver a therapeutic children’s service to families living in our refuges, this includes play, drama, art and crafts, and talking. We work with the survivor and their child to rebuild and attune relationships, to support the child to make sense of their world, to help parents to be better equipped with supporting their child’s difficulties and offer a safe and contained space where the child can express their thoughts and feelings.

When working with children, no two days are the same. One day you might be delivering an arts and crafts session and the next you might be facilitating 'Big Cook Little Cook'.

If you have an interest in working with children and young people then working alongside our dynamic therapeutic child workers to support families to build confidence, self-esteem and resilience could be the role for you.
