How long is the training session?

This training session is a half day - 3.5 hours, either 9.30am - 1pm or 1pm - 4.30pm.

What will I learn?

At the end of this training session you will:

  • Understand the J9 scheme and how to become involved
  • Consider the different forms of violence and abuse and how they interrelate
  • To name and talk about the acts that are perpetrated against victims to enable participants to recognise and describe domestic violence/abuse
  • To dispel myths and stereotypes that prevail about domestic abuse/violence
  • To define domestic violence
  • To show extent of domestic violence and abuse
  • To understand how to respond to disclosures of abuse and responsibilities and limits regarding information Sharing
  • To understand referral routes for support
